Brass has been mistaken for gold for as long as people have worked it. It has the same warmth, without the flash. It does not dazzle, it glows. That soft, steady light is what we wanted to bring into your home.

The Yore philosophy

The build

Made to last

Pick up a Yore light and the first thing you notice is the weight. Every body, arm and canopy is solid brass, never plated steel or zinc, so there is nothing to chip, peel or wear thin. We make lights to keep, not to replace: one that follows you from a first apartment to a forever home.

The patina

Beautiful with time

Choose unlacquered brass and your light keeps changing. Left unsealed, it reacts to air, light and touch, slowly trading its bright glow for a soft, deep patina that belongs to your home alone. Prefer a finish that stays as it is? Brushed brass, black and chrome are sealed and keep their look. And if you ever miss the original shine, a soft cloth and a little brass polish bring it back.

The hand

Shaped by hand

Every light is made to order in our partner workshops, by artisans who have worked brass for generations. Parts are spun, cut and soldered, then finished by hand. Look closely and you may find a slight variation in a curve or a seam. That is the mark of a hand, not a machine.

A small, independent brand

Yore Brass is a small independent brand operated by Zevun 888 LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company (entity number 0008115756).

We design and curate the collection, then work directly with partner workshops, where artisans have shaped brass by hand for generations. Your light is made to order in one of these workshops, then checked and shipped directly to your door. We keep no warehouse stock: that is why every light is made for you.

The name

Why Yore

Yore, as in the days of yore: times long past. We chose the name for what it promises. Everything we make is meant to become part of someone’s days of yore, the lamp a child grows up under and remembers when they think of home.

Inspired by the timeless interiors of old New York, where brass and marble have lit homes for more than a century, we make lights that outlast trends. Not for this season, but for the next generation.
