Where to use brass sconces
Beside the bed to free the nightstand, on each side of a bathroom mirror, along a hallway or on either side of a fireplace. Sconces add light at eye level, where a ceiling fixture cannot reach.
How high to hang a wall sconce
Mount wall sconces 60 to 66 inches from the floor to the center of the fixture. In a bathroom, place one on each side of the mirror, 36 to 40 inches apart. Beside a bed, 48 to 60 inches from the floor works best for reading.
Brass sconce FAQ
What is the difference between unlacquered and brushed brass?
Unlacquered brass has no protective coating, so it ages into a warm patina. Brushed brass is sealed and keeps its soft satin glow.
Can brass sconces go in a bathroom?
Yes. Solid brass handles humidity well and pairs naturally with marble, tile and brass taps.
